Shaarla Blackwell was born in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Gifted from an early age, the form of expression she excelled in was

drawing and painting.

After graduating from the Johannesburg School of Art, she traveled

extensively through Europe, the Middle East and Canada.

Since settling in the United States 30 years ago, her work with wild

animals and pets has emerged.  Her paintings have shown at the

Pacific Northwest Arts Fair, held yearly in Bellevue, WA, and other

venues.

Over the years she has honed and perfected her craft and can create

"spot-on" paintings of animals that are incredibly real and amazingly

accurate, from as little information as a single photograph.

Clients do not perceive her work as just a painting, but as an actual,

vibrant, life-filled representation of their beloved pet.

Shaarla lets no detail go unnoticed.  Her focus on quality and

accuracy has made her art in high demand, so please allow a minimum

of 2 to 4 weeks for completion of a painting - from inception to delivery.

Most clients furnish their own digital or printed photograph of their pet

from which Shaarla will then create her "Pet Painting".
